Hever Castle

Visit this 700 year old castle, home to the Boleyn family, where Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s 2nd wife, spent her youth. You can see Anne’s prayer book which she used at her execution.

Discover how the castle came into the ownership of King Henry’s estranged fourth wife, Anne of Cleves – the woman he cruelly dubbed the “Flanders Mare”.

Follow the story of the castle’s life under the ownership of the wealthy Astor family, after their arrival from America.

And then enjoy the gardens: the topiary figures, the formal Italian Garden with its garden vignettes , the lake, the rose garden and the upper herbaceous borders.

For the young at heart there is a delightfully damp Water Maze as well as a small Yew Maze to discover.
